Academic Session 1: A Vehicle for Success

It is undeniable that our students need to be able to use English in different social, academic and professional contexts in the 21st century. Whenever they have the chance to be exposed to topics from different areas, they enhance their skills at the same time they get to know more about the world they live in and develop critical thinking skills. This session aims at reflecting on the power of transversal topics in our classrooms.

Training Session: Clear Steps to Put English in Action

As we educators already know, students learn the language by using it in meaningful contexts. However, how can we guide them through this process? What are the steps we must follow in order to assure they will have the support they need to produce?

If you want to promote sensibility and effectiveness in our classroom, this session is for you.

Academic Session 2: Teaching the Netflix Generation

The world has changed and so have the interests and demands of our students. One thing we know for sure is that we have never taught a generation like this so understanding exactly how to make learning visible and tangible for them is extremely necessary and urgent.

Join us and get to know some strategies and tips on learning evidence driven classes.

Academic Session 3: Combining agency and effectiveness with active methodologies

The classroom post pandemic invites we educators to use the best methodologies we have available to cope with students’ needs and interests. By now, we are absolutely sure that there is no other way to engage students: it´s mandatory they take an active role in their learning process by having voice and choice.

In this session we are going to present a selection of active methodologies to promote a successful learning process according to the demands of the 21st century.

Academic Session 4: Preparing students for life: the four essential pillars of Higher Secondary Education

Beyond presenting grammar structures and vocabulary, the language education in the 21st century aims at preparing students to use the language as a tool to communicate effectively in different contexts. However, it´s important they learn more crucial skills to be ready to the challenges of real world and we can bring them to our classroom by planning intentional meaningful practices that will promote this solid development.

If you preparing students for life is important to you, don’t miss this session.

Learn how to plan a class that guides students to achieve realistic goals through adequate and challenging learning experiences.

Academic Session 6: Connecting to the topics glocally

We learn by making connections. The more connections we are able to establish, more knowledge we build and in a more permanent way. Moreover, we build bridges between the content and our students´ interests, community, background and we have the chance to educate a generation that hopefully, will impact positively in the world using the language to make a difference.

Come to this session and discover the power of glocal topics to motivate students and promote a sophisticated learning process.

Training Session 2: Oral communication in action

No matter the path our students choose, English can open up the doors of the world for them. That´s why performing different and authentic oral practices in an everyday basis in the classroom, will build a fundamental knowledge and the foundation for other skills, such us reading and writing.

In this session we will discuss how oracy is developed through My English in Action blocks.

Academic Session 7: Heterogeneous groups: are we prepared for this new reality?

Different needs, interests, learning styles, goals and backgrounds. Nowadays, we have more diverse classrooms than ever before and although it can sound a negative aspect of education post pandemic, we can benefit from these differences if we plan for diversity.

Get to know some strategies that will create a constant learning environment for all your students all the time.

Academic Session 8: Formative, efficient and life-changing assessment

Classifying students according to a grade should never be the objective of an assessment process. Still, we tend to simplify the benefits of this essential part of the learning experience. If we are convinced our students learn through different methodologies, is it fair to assess everybody at the same time with the same tools?

Learn how to use the adequate assessment tools according to the different learning objectives you develop in the classroom.
