Academic Session 1: A Vehicle for Success

It is undeniable that our students need to be able to use English in different social, academic and professional contexts in the 21st century. Whenever they have the chance to be exposed to topics from different areas, they enhance their skills at the same time they get to know more about the world they live in and develop critical thinking skills. This session aims at reflecting on the power of transversal topics in our classrooms.

Training Session: Clear Steps to Put English in Action

As we educators already know, students learn the language by using it in meaningful contexts. However, how can we guide them through this process? What are the steps we must follow in order to assure they will have the support they need to produce?

If you want to promote sensibility and effectiveness in our classroom, this session is for you.

Academic Session 2: Teaching the Netflix Generation

The world has changed and so have the interests and demands of our students. One thing we know for sure is that we have never taught a generation like this so understanding exactly how to make learning visible and tangible for them is extremely necessary and urgent.

Join us and get to know some strategies and tips on learning evidence driven classes.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: AMANDA FONSECA

Educator due to an election of the soul, she sees the plurilingual education as a life conception more than a teaching methodology or a trend. She has lived and studied in Europe for 6 years where she discovered her fascination for languages and different cultures and also where she got technically trained by Cambridge, London and Salamanca Universities. Back to Brazil, she held strategic positions in the managing area of important schools from São Paulo State for more than 18 years. At these schools, she developed personalized bilingual programs, trained different teachers and coordinators and implemented these programs with excellent results. These schools have become reference bilingual schools in the region. Her most recent professional experience abroad has been in Mexico where she was the Bilingual Academic Head Teacher at Colegio Sara Alarcon for 3 years. At present, she is a National Geographic Learning Senir Academic consultant for Latin America and an international consultant on Bilingual Education at Expandir.
